We of the West Riding is a charming early feature made by Yorkshire born director Ken Annakin, creator of epic international blockbusters in later years, including Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. We of the West Riding is a delightful portrait of post war Yorkshire, documenting the lives of people at work and play, with stunning shots of Dales landscapes and the towns of the West Riding.
Before the main feature, you will have the chance to cycle down memory lane with classic cycling films from national and Yorkshire film archives.
The event will be introduced by film writer Tony Earnshaw, who will share his own memories of Ken Annakin and provide an insight into the director’s work.
